Mark Harris is a professional writer with a reputation for stylish writing, editorial precision, and readability. Writing on topics ranging from contagious disease prevention to medical office management, electronic medical records to clinical laboratory issues, Mark brings an accessible, easy-to-read style to even the most complex health care issues. An experienced interviewer, Mark's articles regularly feature commentary from the nation's leading health care experts. 
Mark is a featured contributor to two college writing textbooks: The Flexible Writer, fourth edition, by Susanna Rich (Allyn & Bacon/Longman, 2003); and Guide to College Reading, sixth edition, by Kathleen McWhorter (Addison-Wesley, 2003). For several years, Mark was Choice Books columnist for Chicago's Conscious Choice magazine. His essays also appear in The Oregonian, Pantagraph, Z, Nightingale-Conant's Insight and other publications. Notably, his 2001 essay, the "The Game of Life," exploring the health benefits of play, was an Utne Reader cover story. As an editorial consultant, Mark has assisted many organizations, businesses, and individual authors with their publishing needs. His clients include the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Arthur Andersen, Capitol Publications, Children's Habilitation Institute, Health Newsletters Direct, Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center, Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, and other organizations. 
A former staff editor for the Joint Commission, Mark is senior writer for three Joint Commission publications: Plant, Technology, and Safety Management; Quality Improvement in Ambulatory Care; and Process Improvement Models: Case Studies in Health Care. He served as editor for several recent AAMA continuing education medical and online course publications. These include Introduction to Microbiology, Microorganisms and Human Disease, and Phlebotomy: Drawing from the Basics. Additionally, Mark is editor of the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine publication, The Clinical Significance of Fungus Infection of the Toenails in the Elderly: A Response to HCFA's Medicare Policy, by Gordon J. Denno, DPM, and Lawrence M. Rubin, DPM. 
Over the years Mark has assisted a wide range of individuals with their publishing projects.
